Lt.
Gen Martin R. Steele is Chairman of GSI’s Advisory
Board. He has been president & CEO of the Intrepid
Sea-Air-Space Museum in New York since June 1999. Lt.
Gen Steele serves on several boards of trustees and
directors since retiring from Marine Corps in August
1999 following 34 years of active duty.
Lt. General Steele holds a BA degree
from the University of Arkansas (1974) and MA degrees
from Central Michigan University (1981), Salve Regina
College (1985), and the Naval War College (1985). He is
a distinguished graduate of the Armor Officer Advanced
Course, an honor graduate of the Marine Corps Command
and Staff College, and a graduate of the Naval War
College.
His personal decorations include: The
Defense Distinguished Service Medal; The Distinguished
Service Medal; The Defense Superior Service Medal;
Legion of Merit; Meritorious Service Medal; Navy
Commendation Medal with gold star; and The Combat Action
Ribbon.
